Belinda the Flame and Johnathan the Smoke became a romantic couple the moment they ignited in the heart of the woods. Over time, they began to argue; they bickered over trivialities and important matters, too. Soon their differences proved irreconcilable. Belinda the Flame insisted that Jonathan the Smoke remove himself and fly away from the woods. Where on earth do I go!? Johnathan asked to which Belinda said Where the wind takes you, idiot!
So Johnathan drifted south with the gusts, leaving a trail of ash as if he wore muddy boots into the living room. Against his will, Jonathan the Smoke settled above a neighborhood kid sitting on a park bench. The boy had asthma. He coughed until he was forced to walk away, wheezing and cursing at Johnathan with the air he had left in his lungs. His mother was standing on the threshold of a front door. She too was cursing at Johnathan the Smoke. Johnathan thought what’s the use if nobody wants me around!? Then he wondered about the burning bush that spoke to Moses. Did that burning bush produce smoke? If so, could the burning bush smoke be a righteous example for me to follow? Is this blasphemous?
All Johnathan knew was that he belonged with Belinda the Flame. He wished for nothing more than to be properly extinguished by her side, drowned in a torrent of water by a volunteer fireman. Johnathan daydreamed as the wind took him once again to someplace he’d never seen. He made the skies look orange as he passed by.
